Esperenza is petite, with a slight but lithe body,
like a nymph who runs through the trees. Her skin
seems to glitter and her eyes are kaleidoscopes. Her
hair is like a rainbown, with strands of every colour,
and it twists and falls all the way to the ground.
Other Important Information
She was the inspiration for Iris, the Greek
Goddess of Rainbows. During her Faire days, it was
said that the Beatle's song 'Lucy in the Sky with
Diamonds' was about her (but then it was also rumoured
to be about drugs - only the Beatles and Renza know
for sure). She is also said to be the inspiration for
the character Delirium from Neil Gaiman's Sandman
comic series.
History:
Esperenza was not born, but created by
Teferi, the first of the Brinncaillagh. She was born
of the rainbows that peppered sunny skies after the
rain. A piece of fierce hope and colour. She ran
free and wild, dressed in nothing but colours, and
explored the world that she had been brought into.
She met many men, of many species and fell in love
with each and every one with whom she mated. Renza
had many many children, each special and unique in
their own way.
When the glitta Houses were first formed, Esperenza
stayed with Teferi in her House, Treoir. She did not
feel drawn to any of the other Houses at the time, and
she wanted to explore and paint the world with her
colour.
After the First Court War, a House was brought into
existance that caught her eye and her mind. Di Chasm.
Esperenza was one of the first to join the House of
Whimsy. And she stayed a part of the House for many
many centuries. It was not until the Second Court War
that she left. Renza did not like bloodshed and the
darkness that came with War and so she spirited off to
Faerie.
She met a man there, a Faerie who was named Lythian
and fell in love. She stayed with him for a long time
and they had many children, most of whom still reside
in Faerie today. Renza and Lythian parted as people
do, although she still loved him, and he loves her.
Esperenza returned to the mortal realm then, to find
the world had changed. There were new glitta Houses,
and she found great interest in one, called Faire,
which she joined. The rainbow woman inspired many,
often by her presence alone; people were drawn to the
colours of her hair and in her eyes.
