+History+
Rossignol was born near the beginning of the Peace, the youngest child in her family. Her mother was a Tuath, and her father a former Ailil who had gone to Kione when it formed. Born just as midnight rolled around one night, her parents named her Rossignol, for the French word for ‘nightingale’, the bird that was singing at the time of her birth. She was close to her family as a whole, but most of all to her brother Nolan. He would always play for her and looked out for her and doted upon her and she adored him more than the stars and the moon above. She followed him everywhere, like his dark little shadow, watching with big silver eyes.
When she was a young lady, she very nearly joined House Faire, but stopped at last minute, for she did not quite feel it was right for her. And so she remained helpless and simply watched. She met a man named Faolán Celtigar and they fell in love. Soon after, they had children, a son named Oblivian and a daughter, Illusia. The love between Rossignol and Faolán did not last, but the love for her children did, and so she was not terribly sad. They pareted amicably and remained friends for their children’s sake.
The peace that she was born in would not, could not last. The Second Court War struck quick, and was difficult and bloody. Many people were hurt or worse, but the most painful blow that Rossignol experienced was the death of her brother Nolan. She was crushed, and threw herself into a very long sleep, living in her dreams, where her brother was still alive and all was well. She slept through the Struggle and part of the Enlightenment. It was only when she was finally ready to deal with things that she awoke, rising to a new time.
Rossignol awoke with a new strength and determination. Not wanting to fall into line with one of the other Houses, she decided to start her own. House Aislean would be one of dreams and nightmares, of sleeping and the ethereal. Things that she embraced, things that she was, things that she understood. It was near the middle of the Enlightenment that her House was formed, and slowly but surely, people drifted the way of House Aislean.
She caught up with her son and daughter then, and found a new love. His name was Koal Kione and they were all but pledged, but pledging was not the thing for either of them. Together they had two children. The first was a sweet girl named Celestine. Their second daughter was born later on, near the end of the Enlightenment. Rossignol named her Nolee, in tribute to her beloved brother, Nolan.
When the Third Court War hit, Rossignol stood tall, defending her House, her family, her people. Koal worked in the spirit realm, seeking out those who were missing. One night while he was out of his body, he was attacked, and ruthlessly killed. Rossignol was distraught but she did not falter, for the sake of her House and her children. She found those who killed Koal and made them pay for their crimes. When the war was over, she licked her wounds, and the wounds of her House, taking solace in Aislean and in her family.
